HOW WE GET THEM CONNECTED
September 15, 2019
Shiva was born as a normal child and his life along with his parents and a sister was going good. His father used to work as a security guard for a school where Shiva was studying and was among the good students of the class, when suddenly at the age of 10 he got infection and allergies in his left eye. Six months of checkup, medicine and follow up at Teaching Hospital the doctor convinced him that his sight would be better but during these six months he was losing his vision slowly and one day he loses his vision completely. Shiva and his family could not believe this big loss. He goes along with his father to see that doctor again but he had already left the hospital and these poor people have no one to complain about it. Shiva drops his school and sits at home all the time. After 5 years of this grievance, he decided that be it at any condition he has to complete his education. He joins a school in Bhaktapur to first get trained in Braille for around 7 months and then joins Laboratory School. Shiva lost his sight, but that didn't stop him. He is now in Grade -7 at Laboratory School. He got 85% in his latest exams.
Today, Shiva and his friend Prasai got to meet the Lord Mayor of London, Peter Estlin who sponsors Shiva (light shirt) through Dolma Foundation in his personal capacity, on his trip to Nepal, as well as the British Ambassador
and the Governor of Nepal's Central Bank at the programme in The British Embassy, Kathmandu, Nepal.
They had the time of their lives!
