When Lord David Blunkett met Dolma’s students, the conversation turned challenge into courage and hope into vision.

At Dolma Foundation, we had the honour of welcoming Rt Hon Lord David Blunkett, a Cabinet Minister in Tony Blair’s government and blind since birth. In an intimate and deeply moving conversation, he sat with three of our visually impaired students — not to speak of limitations, but of strength, mindset, and possibility.

Lord Blunkett shared how belief, perseverance, and purpose had guided his life, turning obstacles into opportunities and challenges into growth. His story reminded every listener that adversity is not an ending, but often the beginning of something remarkable.

We were also honoured by the presence of H.E. Rob Fenn, British Ambassador to Nepal, whose encouragement added to the warmth and significance of the day.

For our students, it was far more than a meeting — it was an unforgettable moment of connection, courage, and inspiration. One that will stay in their hearts as a reminder that no barrier can dim the light of determination.

Hope grows when someone like you reaches out.
