When Tim Gocher first visited Bridim, he met Dolma, a bright student whose family couldn’t afford her education. Sponsoring her schooling became the Foundation’s very first project, and the beginning of a lifelong partnership with Nepal.

What began as the Dolma Development Fund has grown into the Dolma Foundation — a UK-registered and Nepal-affiliated non-profit dedicated to reducing poverty through education, healthcare, and sustainable livelihoods.

As Dolma expanded, one principle guided every step — partnership.
We work with communities – every initiative starts with listening, co-design, and local leadership, ensuring that progress lasts long after our work ends.

Education remains the heartbeat of Dolma Foundation. From that first scholarship in Bridim to hundreds of students across Nepal, every child supported represents a new beginning.

Today, Dolma Foundation continues to uplift lives through education, healthcare, rehabilitation and livelihoods. But “Dolma” has come to mean more than a name — it symbolises hope, opportunity, and the belief that even the smallest act can spark lasting change.

“We believe lasting change begins when people are empowered to lead it.”

Our Mission

Dolma Foundation exists to create opportunity where it’s needed most.

We work with local communities across Nepal to provide access to education, healthcare, and sustainable development.

Our mission is simple: to help every child and community realise their potential with dignity and independence.

Our Approch

Dolma Foundation’s approach is rooted in collaboration.

We don’t impose projects — we build them alongside the people who benefit from them.

Every initiative begins by listening to local needs, followed by co-design, capacity building, and long-term follow-up. Whether rebuilding schools, training plumbers, or sponsoring a child’s education, each effort grows from trust and partnership.
