When the 2015 earthquake struck, Highland Boarding School, Dolma Foundation’s closest education partner, was left in ruins.

Classrooms cracked, dormitories collapsed, and the hillside hostel became unsafe overnight.

The school was home to over 120 sponsored students, nearly 85% of all Foundation-supported children. Their safety and education hung in the balance.

Within weeks, Dolma Foundation built three prefabricated buildings where the basketball court once stood. Unsafe buildings were demolished, and students returned to learning in safe spaces.

We ensured that education, their path to a better future, never stopped, even when everything else did.
