Raman Kumar Karki, the youngest of three brothers, grew up in rural Nepal with a dream that once seemed far away. He wanted to become a doctor — to return to villages like his own and bring care where it was needed most.
His path began with a full scholarship from Dolma Foundation to study at Highland Boarding School, where his dedication soon shone through. Raman became the District Topper in Nepal’s national board exams and continued his education in Kathmandu, earning First Division results that opened new doors.
When he later reached out to Dolma Foundation for guidance, we stood beside him as he explored his next steps. His ambition led him to Bangladesh, where he enrolled in the Bachelor of Dental Surgery programme at Mandy Dental College. Today, Raman has achieved first position in his internal exams and has been elected as College Representative for the Worldwide Nepalese Students’ Organization in Bangladesh — a testament to his leadership and perseverance.
Raman’s journey is a powerful reminder that when hard work meets opportunity, extraordinary things can happen. His story continues to inspire every child who dares to dream beyond their circumstances.
