Seven Students Complete Their SEE Exams

From the quiet hills of Rasuwa, seven determined students from Highland School have completed their SEE board exams with pride and purpose. Among them, Pasang Dorje Tamang emerged as this year’s District Topper — a milestone not only for him but for the entire community that cheered him on.

Dolma Foundation proudly celebrates Barun Lama, Kanchhi Butti Tamang, Meena Tamang, Pasang Dorje Tamang, Ranjana Ghale, Rohan Ghale, and Tsering Mendu Tamang for their remarkable achievements. Behind each name lies a story of resilience, early mornings, late-night study sessions, and the belief that education can transform lives.

Their success is more than academic — it is a promise of what’s possible when opportunity meets determination. To our bright young achievers, congratulations. The future awaits, and it’s yours to shape.

Shiva Majhi Shines in Nepal’s SEE Exams

Shiva Majhi, a visually impaired student supported by Dolma Foundation, has achieved an outstanding GPA of 3.80 out of 4 in his SEE — Nepal’s national Grade 10 board exams. His focus, discipline, and quiet strength have inspired everyone who knows his story.

Now enrolled at Golden Gate College to pursue his higher education in Grade 11, Shiva continues to defy limits and redefine what perseverance means. His success is not only a personal victory but also a message of hope to every child who dares to dream beyond circumstance.

Shiva’s journey is one of resilience, dignity, and the unstoppable power of belief. We are immensely proud of how far he has come — and even prouder of the future he is building, one determined step at a time.

A Night of Music and Milestones: Celebrating Dolma’s Children in Kathmandu

At the Kathmandu home of Tim Gocher and Pooja Gurung, laughter and music came together in a heartwarming celebration of Dolma Foundation’s children. The evening was alive with melodies performed by the talented students of Trinetra Foundation, whose voices and instruments filled the room with joy.

Among the many moments of pride, the loudest applause was reserved for Shiva and Prasai, two visually impaired students who achieved exceptional exam results. Their success stood as a powerful reminder that brilliance knows no barriers — only determination and belief.

It was an evening of togetherness and gratitude — a reminder that the Dolma Foundation family is bound not just by support, but by shared dreams and the music of possibility. To all our children, your spirit continues to light the way forward.

Badal and Salon Ace Their Grade 12 Exams

Once again, our students have made us proud. Badal Tamang and Salon Ghale have successfully passed their Grade 12 board examinations — Nepal’s A-level equivalent — both earning Grade A with GPAs of 3.52 and 3.42 out of 4.

Their journey has been one of quiet determination, focus, and resilience. Through challenges and long study nights, they held on to their dreams and emerged stronger, ready to take their next steps toward a future filled with possibility.

Today, Badal and Salon stand as shining examples of what dedication can achieve. Their achievements are not only personal triumphs but also moments of pride for the entire Dolma Foundation family.

Congratulations, Badal and Salon — your future begins now, and we’ll be cheering you on every step of the way.

Tim Gocher Awarded OBE for Service to Nepal

In 2022, Dolma Foundation’s Chairman Tim Gocher was awarded the Order of the British Empire (OBE) in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List for his outstanding services to British investment and economic development in Nepal.

Reflecting on the recognition, Tim shared, “There can be nothing more important for tackling inequality than educating the poorest and most marginalised children.”

For nearly two decades, Tim has led Dolma Foundation with unwavering purpose and humility — building opportunities where there were none, and ensuring that economic growth uplifts the most vulnerable.

This honour is not his alone. It belongs to every donor, partner, and supporter who stands with Dolma Foundation in the belief that development must leave no one behind. Together, their shared vision continues to shape a more equal and hopeful Nepal.

A Day of Joy and Laughter: The Dolma Party in Kathmandu

It was a day overflowing with happiness as Dolma Foundation children gathered in Kathmandu for the Dolma Party — a joyful celebration hosted by our Chairman Tim Gocher and his wife, Pooja Gurung.

The day was filled with games, laughter, delicious treats, and special gifts for every child. But beyond the fun and festivities, it was a day of warmth and belonging — a chance for children from different corners of Nepal to come together and simply be children again.

For many, it was a rare moment to feel seen, valued, and carefree — surrounded by people who believe in their dreams.

A heartfelt thank you to Tim and Pooja for creating this beautiful memory. The smiles and laughter from that day will echo far beyond the celebration, reminding us all of the power of love shared freely.

Three Bright Futures: Celebrating SEE 2022 Success at Dolma Foundation

This year, three more students from the Dolma Foundation family reached an incredible milestone — completing Nepal’s national Grade 10 board exam, the SEE, with determination that outshone every challenge.

We proudly celebrate Binita BK (GPA 3.10, B+), Karuna BK (GPA 2.5, B), and Phurpu Wangmo Tamang (GPA 3.55, A) for their achievements. Behind each result lies a journey of persistence — long nights of study, moments of doubt overcome by courage, and the unwavering belief that they deserve every opportunity education brings.

Their marks represent more than academic success; they reflect the spirit of resilience that defines Dolma Foundation’s students. To Binita, Karuna, and Phurpu — congratulations. You’ve not only passed an exam but opened the door to endless possibility. The road ahead is wide, and the world is ready for your dreams.

Debate Day at Highland Boarding School

At Highland Boarding School, the classroom transformed into a stage of ideas as students took part in a spirited debate competition. With confidence and conviction, they spoke their minds, challenged perspectives, and discovered the strength of their own voices.

For many, it was their first time standing before an audience — but nerves quickly gave way to pride as they articulated thoughts that were bold, honest, and full of promise. Teachers watched with admiration as the young debaters not only defended their points but also learned to listen, respect, and respond with grace.

These moments go far beyond textbooks. They build courage, critical thinking, and the understanding that every voice — no matter how young — has the power to inspire change.

A Message of Hope: Supporting the Children of Trinetra Foundation

Today, Dolma Foundation Chairman Tim Gocher visited Trinetra Foundation with a message of hope — and a promise fulfilled. Thanks to the generosity of our supporters, we can now cover six months of rent, lodging, care, and school fees for two children, along with providing warm winter clothing for all students at the centre.

As the children received their new clothes and shared quiet smiles of gratitude, the moment spoke volumes. In a world that often overlooks the most vulnerable, your compassion made sure these children are not just cared for, but truly seen.

Every contribution has made a tangible difference — a safe place to stay, a classroom to learn in, and the warmth of knowing they matter. Thank you for being part of their story, and for proving that hope grows strongest when shared.

Welcoming David Stanley BEM to the Dolma Foundation Board of Trustees

Dolma Foundation is deeply honoured to welcome David Stanley BEM to its Board of Trustees. Founder of The Music Man Project UK, David has dedicated his life to empowering people with learning disabilities through music — giving them not only a voice but a stage to shine upon.

In Kathmandu, he led his students in a moving performance at The British School, reminding everyone that ability is not about limits, but about opportunity. From the London Palladium to the Royal Albert Hall, his work has transformed hundreds of lives, proving that music can bridge differences and celebrate every individual’s unique potential.

Now, David brings that same passion and purpose to Dolma Foundation. His commitment to inclusion and empowerment echoes deeply with our mission, and we are proud to have him by our side as we continue to create opportunities that change lives.
